NOVEMBER 2018:
At least one thing I have to say about our discussion focused on a "good college" is that I am glad I got to learn a little more about what to base my research and decision on colleges are and how I can tell weather or not different colleges are good, or not.
Three things I need in my ideal college are:
Scholarship Opportunities
A Great Community
They offer what I want to do as a degree
JANUARY 2019:
Three Colleges I want to explore further:
I have looked at a bunch of colleges and intend to look at a couple more, but these ones stand out amongst the rest. They all provide the two areas I want to study (Broadcast Journalism and/or Film) and they are in areas that I have already been too and would do really well in. I am prepared to adapt to a city like Phoenix and Boston, and I have spent time in the UK and absolutely love it there. I feel like Phoenix or UK I would do much better in because Boston didn't "call" to me as much as the other two did.
What is uniquely different about each college from one another?
Arizona State University has one of, if not the best Broadcast Journalism program(which I have familiarized myself in, by taking a summer course there) in the country, it is a University spread all around Phoenix and the specific campus I am looking at is a perfect size.
Stirling College offers me to study a master and a minor, which for me hopefully will be a major in Journalism, and a minor in film. It also is not in a big city so the campus is smaller and in the countryside of Scotland. Stirling also allows me to try out multiple majors and classes till I find the right one for me.
Boston University has a unique campus and student life that intrigued me. It also had a very nice journalism school with great staff.
MARCH 2019:
I have my link internship confirmed!!!! I will be working as a reporter for Durango Tv, producing local news stories and creating my own news packages. I am beyond excited to have an opportunity like this and hope that it is the start for my career...
